$129,400.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr

Role Summary

As a Senior Cost Estimator for Electric Transmission, you will be responsible for developing and managing cost estimates for electric transmission projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project costs, and providing insights to support project planning and execution. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates, focusing on competitive transmission solicitations.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for electric transmission projects, including new construction, upgrades, and maintenance of transmission lines, substations, and converter stations.
• Lead cost estimation efforts for competitive transmission bids, ensuring estimates are accurate and compliant.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather information and ensure alignment on scope and costs.
• Identify potential cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and present cost reports and analyses to stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and estimation methodologies to improve processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in cost estimation for electric transmission or related fields.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software such as CostOS, Timberline, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with high voltage transmission projects (HVDC, 345kV to 765kV HVAC) is preferred.
• Experience in developing estimates for bids/proposals in engineering or construction firms is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications like CCP or PMP.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for electric transmission.
• Experience with Monte Carlo, PERT, or similar analysis tools.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, AutoCAD.
