The Senior Financial Analyst develops and prepares complex and critical financial measurements regarding operating results, new business opportunities, and special projects. This role supports the Director, FP&A, and is responsible for the financial planning and analysis functions for the Marketing, Product, Channel (MPC) business unit. Responsibilities include monthly internal reporting and analysis, DCF modeling, yearly planning, quarterly forecasting, and related reporting and presentations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist in the preparation of zero-based annual operating budgets and quarterly forecasts, including direct marketing and other operating expenses and headcount.

  • Provide OPEX and direct marketing expense analysis and commentary of actual versus budget amounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Prepare financial models considering payback periods, NPV, ROI, and other measures.

  • Analyze financial performance and create ad hoc financial reports and presentations.

  • Develop and maintain vendor-level trending analysis.

  • Support month-end close activities, including account analysis, journal entries, general ledger validation, purchase order research for accruals, expense coding, SOX compliance, and analytical activities for accurate financial reporting.

  • Serve as a business partner to the Director, FP&A, and the MPC management team, delivering timely and accurate financial performance information, assisting in forecast development, and explaining financial implications of decisions. Manage informational inquiries from corporate, executive, and operational management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of finance or accounting experience; MBA or graduate degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to gather and analyze financial and operational data.
  • Hands-on experience with financial modeling, accounting, and audit principles.
  • Ability to perform well in high-pressure, matrixed environments.
  • Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Financials.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas) and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Tableau is preferred.

This position is based in Reston, Virginia

The pay range is $89,900-$121,700, with potential for discretionary bonuses and stock awards depending on performance and experience.
