Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a Senior Regulatory Coordinator to lead regulatory approvals and ensure compliance across multiple stakeholders. The role requires deep understanding of FERC requirements for LNG projects and will coordinate NEPA filings and regulatory submittals.

You will act as the SME on FERC-regulated projects, support inspections, and prepare reports for agencies and customers while collaborating with various disciplines to meet project timelines and permit conditions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with FERC-regulated projects.
• Preferred experience with Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and the U.S. Coast Guard regulation compliance.
• Basic knowledge of federal/state regulatory agency compliance submittals and ability to resolve possible errors returned regarding specific data.
• Strong written, verbal skills, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with third party vendors to ensure timely and accurate regulatory reports.
• Monitor, track, and audit to ensure regulatory compliance with permit conditions and all federal, state, and local regulations.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The Senior Regulatory Coordinator plays a crucial role in obtaining regulatory approvals and ensuring compliance. The primary purpose will be to work collaboratively with multiple departmental stakeholders to ensure strategies, procedures, and assurance processes are established to address compliance requirements. The Senior Regulatory Coordinator must understand the federal regulatory requirements for an LNG facility, specifically the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with FERC-regulated projects.

Work Environment

• Approximately 15% of travel will be required.
• Must be able to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment to perform job functions.
• Operate in a complex construction environment.
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
• Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits.
• Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.
• Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios.
