Job summary

TheMasonGroup in the United States is seeking a Senior Controls, Electrical Engineer to design and program complex electrical systems for our machinery and processes. You will develop PLC and HMI-based solutions, select hardware, and contribute to FAT and site acceptance tests.

You will lead and mentor junior engineers, collaborate with sales on engineering scope, and ensure designs meet industry standards and client requirements across field installations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of design, development, programming and field commissioning experience.
  • Ability to read technical documents (P&IDs, sequences) and write routine reports.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical and automated control systems for machines and processes.
  • Program PLC and HMI-based project requirements.
  • Select hardware and formulate engineering design based on project needs.
  • Perform FAT and site acceptance testing; provide field support.
  • Coordinate with sales on component selection and scope estimation.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers; provide project management support.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Sage ERP in daily tasks.

Sr Controls, Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Engineer to design and program complex electrical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Designs systems of electrical and automated controls for machines and processes
  • Programs PLC, HMI based project requirements
  • Selects hardware and formulates engineering design based on project requirements
  • Reviews system design for compliance with engineering best practices, appropriate regulations and codes, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications
  • Formulates and performs factory acceptance test plans for completed systems
  • Performs site acceptance tests at client job sites
  • Provides PLC and HMI programming field support
  • Assists engineering manager with the below:
    • programming and FAT scheduling
    • resolving engineering design and testing problems
    • perform design review of other engineers
  • Assists Sales Department in selecting components and estimating engineering scope on quotations
  • Provides project management assistance for control systems
  • Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems on field installations.
  • AutoCAD, ERP system (sage - business system)
  • Microsoft Office products to perform engineering and project management tasks
  • Mentor and train more junior-level engineers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 7 years related experience in design, development,
  • programming, and field commissioning experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents including P&IDs, sequence of operations, technical specifications, etc.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effectively present information to top management, customers, and employees
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD lite or AutoCAD electrical preferred
  • Apply mathematical operations to such tasks as determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
