Job summary

Covista is seeking a senior contract specialist to manage the full lifecycle of clinical contracts, coordinating with contract management, clinical operations, hospitals, and legal/compliance teams.

You will serve as a subject matter expert, drive contract workflows, and report on contract data while onboarding new staff and supporting cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree or equivalent in business administration, contract management, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional work experience in online higher education or similar environments.
  • 3+ years of experience negotiating contracts with academic partners for clinical sites.
  • 3+ years Salesforce b2b & DocuSign experience.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Act as liaison to academic programs as the Data Use contract specialist.
  • Monitor and facilitate progress of contracts through all phases to completion.
  • Interface with Legal to support one-off contracts for academic partners.
  • Manage Contracts SharePoint site and generate financial reports as needed.
  • Analyze historical contract data and provide reports with recommendations.
  • Orient new staff on contracting policies and procedures.
  • Represent team at department meetings and support Contract Manager with scheduling and onboarding.
  • Design workflows and procedures, manage workflow and adjust as needed.
  • Remain current on corporate contract & finance policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Opportunity at a Glance

As the senior contract specialist for our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for the full clinical contract lifecycle including partnering closely with the contract team manager, clinical operations teams, hospitals and site partners, legal, insurance, and compliance groups to lead the execution of a variety of clinical contracts while applying legal and clinical expertise. This is a collaborative role that requires relationship building, outreach and care for the student during the contracting process.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and liaison for contracting needs, escalations and regulatory questions.
  • Manage case assignment in b2b, ensuring that all contracts are being worked on effectively.
  • Serve as liaison to the academic programs as the Data Use contract specialist.
  • Monitor and facilitate the progress of contracts through the contract process and all phases through contract completion.
  • Interface with Legal to support one off contracts that serve the needs of various academic partners.
  • Manage Contracts SharePoint site. Create and update data views, and reports, to support scheduled and ad-hoc requests. Generate financial reports as needed.
  • Analyze historical contract data to provide critical information to management, Legal and Finance. This includes providing reports to highlight recommendations to improve or change process with little to no input from management.
  • Orient new staff on contracting policies and procedures.
  • Represent team at pertinent department meetings.
  • Support Contract Manager role through things such as scheduling, onboarding and systems access requests, and special projects.
  • Act as a change agent to improve current procedures and systems.
  • Cross-functional support of departmental teams, on such occasion as need arises due to capacity constraints.
  • Remain current on corporate contract & finance policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Designs workflows and procedure, manages workflow and adjusts when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree Required and
  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience in business administration, contract management, or a related field. Preferred
  • 3+ years years of professional work experience preferably in online higher education industry Required
  • 3+ years years experience negotiating contracts with academic partners for clinical sites. Required
  • 3+ years Salesforce b2b & DocuSign experience Required

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $49,199.33 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
