Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to support the Defense team and the Kinetics Effects Business Area. The role reports to the Contracts Director and manages a diverse portfolio of contracts on the selling side.

Based in Huntsville, AL preferred, the position requires deep FAR/DFARS knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams including programs, procurement, finance, and legal. Occasional travel to meetings may be required.

Qualifications

  • Requires BA plus 12+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s/JD with 10+ years.
  • Deep knowledge of FAR/DFARS and a variety of contract types (FFP, T&M, CPAF, CPFF, CPIF, FPLOE, IDIQ, GSA).
  • Commercial contracts experience on the selling side is required.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee major proposals and contracts, identify risks and mitigation.
  • Lead negotiations on Teaming, NDAs, Licenses, and OCI mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with Leidos policies and maintain customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with programs, procurement, finance, legal and export control teams.
  • Travel to Huntsville as needed for internal/external meetings.

Description

Leidos currently has an opening for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to support our Defense team. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills & experience supporting the Kinetics Effects Business Area. The selected candidate will report to the Contracts Director and support all contract management activities for a diverse portfolio of contracts. This work is on the selling side of contracts.

Individual contributor role. Preference is to have the person based in the Huntsville, AL area.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide the oversight and evaluation of major proposals, monitoring major contracts, recommending, and implementing new solutions to achieve functional objectives, be a critical asset in key negotiations, ability to resolve multi-faceted and complex contractual/customer issues as they arise, resolve performance issues, identify risks and propose mitigation strategies, ensure compliance with Leidos policies, and developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be a consummate team player, routinely interacting with programs, contracts, procurement, finance, project control, legal and export control team members. Proactively engage with Government contracting counterparts in order to be responsive to customer requirements.

Lead the review and analysis of Request for Proposals (RFPs) in order to identify and mitigate contract risks. Draft, review and negotiate Teaming Agreements, Nondisclosure Agreements, License Agreements and Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) Mitigation Plans.

Basic Qualifications
  • BA degree plus 12 or more years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree or Juris Doctor degree plus 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Candidate must have in depth knowledge of Government regulations (FAR / DFARS) and all contract types: Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF), Fixed Price Level of Effort (FPLOE), Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), and General Service Administration (GSA) type contracts. Hands on experience with Other Transaction (OT) efforts is also expected.
  • Candidate should have commercial contracts experience on the selling side of contracts management.
  • Proven ability to solicit and process complex information and data to solve complex problems and make sound business decisions, handle multiple contractual activities with a short turn-around time, and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • The Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • The Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills to include well developed analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate contract risks as well as coordinate appropriate reviews in accordance with Leidos policy and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with measured and articulate communication; ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, and reconciling issues or differences
  • Local travel may be required. The candidate must be willing to travel to Huntsville to engage in key internal and external meetings.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a final Secret security clearance.

  • Current TSI Clearance
  • Local to Huntsville, AL
  • More than 5 years of industry/commercial Contracts Management experience, especially with manufacturing

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00
