Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required in business-related field.
  • 3-6 years experience in RFx, sourcing, negotiating and contracting.
  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain preferred.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and with others.
  • Moderate to advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis, business case development, ERP systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field such as business administration, finance, operations research, materials management, economics or related discipline.

Responsibilities

Job Description Summary: ***This is a brand-new position with our newly opened Pharmacy Integrated Service facility. Please read the job summary and qualifications for additional information***

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Consultant, Pharmacy Procurement identifies cost and quality opportunities across a broad array of mid-level complex categories and provides support for Pharmacy Managers. Responsible for medication sourcing strategies for OhioHealth’s Pharmacy operations on a system wide basis, while collaborating with pharmacy stakeholders to understand their requirements. In coordination with Category Management, supports operationalization of supplier agreements and provides strategic decision support and recommendations to optimize contract compliance, medication spend and maintain supply chain integrity. This role is also responsible for evaluating workflows to execute strategies for mitigating organizational risk associated with state/federal regulatory requirements, safety considerations/recalls, and product chain of custody considerations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
  • Bachelor's Degree (related fields such as: business administration, finance, operations research, materials management, supply chain management, economics or related discipline) [Required]
  • Years of experience: 3-6 years (Experience required of progressive RF(x), sourcing, negotiating and contracting. Experience, including extensive experience developing and executing strategic souring plans.) [Required]
  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain related field (preferred)
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high-quality solutions.
  • Moderate to advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis, business case development, ERP systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field such as business administration, finance, operations research, materials management, economics ore related discipline.
Responsibilities And Duties
  1. Category Management:
    • Support Category Managers strategies and opportunity assessments for specific categories
    • Recommend sourcing plans to Category Manager for assigned spend categories addressing cost drivers using contracting, competitive bidding, value analysis and financial analysis to meet cost savings targets
    • Handles category issues in absence of Category Manager
    • Aggregate and analyze usage across OhioHealth enterprise
    • Analyze service usage patterns in order to make recommendations for eliminating waste and/or reduction of usage for cost savings
    • Work jointly with suppliers and internal clients to improve integrated processes
    • Facilitates and coordinates activities with appropriate committee s
    • Facilitates cross-functional agreement to standardize services such that TCO is minimized but quality is maintained
    • Supports standards for diversity supplier program
    • Enhance supply chain performance by benchmarking and implementing best practices
    • Help evaluate competitive offerings to determine the overall best value for services
    • Provide status reports related to category/contracting activities to Category Managers
  2. Relationship Management and Project Management:
    • Build professional, effective, collaborative relationships with internal customers, supply chain colleagues, process partners and suppliers
    • Promote innovation and continual improvement in working practices
    • Accountable for the successful implementation and execution of assigned sourcing and supplier performance strategies and the subsequent delivery of value creation to the company for assigned categories.
    • Assist in the development and review of specifications, statements of work, performance terms and/or acceptance criteria
    • Lead cross-functional stakeholders through fact/evidence-based, data-driven sourcing initiatives with strong market and competitive analysis, creation of leverage, and professional negotiations to secure the best quality, service and cost to meet OhioHealth's needs
    • Advocate and enforce the OhioHealth policy on competitive bidding as well as the importance in establishing a competitive supplier environment
    • Collaborating cross-functionally to optimize service specifications
    • Influence internal clients to adhere to policies, best practices, and work towards OhioHealth's culture of spend optimization, standardization
  3. Administration:
    • Manages the data input for vendor and item accuracy, system builds
    • Complete and submit project trackers to quantify savings, status updates
    • Guide match exception resolution
    • Ensures contracts are up-to-date
