This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S.

Our consultants are skilled technical and consultative resources expected to be strong in both technical and soft skills. A Consultant must be a proven self-starter with the ability to problem-solve, communicate effectively, participate in diverse project teams, and interface with customers, vendor partners, and colleagues. Establish & maintain productive and respectful relationships with the delivery team, practice management, and client management.

You will contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives, deliver timely engagements, and work closely with Practice Directors on training, education, career development, performance, and collaboration.

In line with Optiv’s commitment to quality, you will review work to ensure it meets Optiv’s quality standards.

How you will make an impact:

  • Deliver solo-based work or act as a "point" for complex projects
  • Serve as a technical escalation point
  • Lead solution architecture, capacity planning, and hardware specification efforts
  • Lead all Palo Alto Networks and Edge Security deployment activities and third-party system integration
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing and bug-related engineering efforts
  • Design and implement technology build processes, code migration, and source control
  • Provide knowledge transfer and post-production support
  • Communicate effectively within teams
  • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and associations like ISACA, CSA, etc.
  • Obtain and maintain top-tier vendor certifications
  • Complete administrative tasks such as time and expense entry, status reporting, and project closure
  • Contribute to Optiv communities for solutions of focus

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with approximately 5-7 years of related experience
  • Minimum 4 years of professional Information Security experience in consulting, vendor, or enterprise roles, with 4-7 years hands-on with Palo Alto
  • Approximately 4-7 years of technical architecture experience
  • Preferred: Palo Alto Certification Level PCNSE or PCSFE; PCNSC highly desired
  • Experience with private cloud, micro-segmentation, container network, and runtime security (CN-Series) is a plus
  • Experience in customer-facing/consulting roles
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto NGFW, VM-Series, Prisma Access
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and optionally GCP
  • InfoSec/Cyber implementation experience
  • Knowledge of security concepts, vulnerability assessments, data classification, incident response, security policies, and governance
  • Fully qualified/certified on relevant technologies
  • Ability to lead junior professionals
  • Remote with ability to travel within US time zones
