Role Overview

As a Sr. Consultant I on the Specialty Health team, you will be responsible for underwriting Lincoln’s Supplemental Health and Dental/Vision products. You will handle routine to complex assignments, assessing financial risks, determining pricing, and binding transactions. You will work independently and collaboratively to evaluate risks and propose coverage solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Review complex new business and renewal requests for Supplemental Health and Dental coverage for 500+ lives.
2. Recommend modifications to coverage plans based on customer needs.
3. Analyze customer data to determine appropriate pricing and risk acceptance.
4. Negotiate benefits and pricing with brokers and representatives.
5. Assess customer financial health to inform risk and pricing decisions.
6. Decide on risk rejection when appropriate.
7. Bind coverage within scope of authority.
8. Prepare coverage and pricing proposals and renewals.
9. Coordinate with operational teams for accurate plan preparation.
10. Develop relationships with brokers and sales teams to expand market share.
11. Ensure compliance with documentation and reporting requirements.
12. Assist with projects and process improvements.
13. Stay informed on industry trends and incorporate them into practices.
14. Support organizational initiatives and serve as a resource for the team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Supplemental Health
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
