What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with underwriting and project management teams to ensure strong price adequacy across GL and Umbrella lines of business
- Conduct complex analyses adhering to actuarial standards and develop recommendations based on findings
- Prepare and present actuarial findings suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Lead cross-functional peer reviews to ensure quality work and drive innovation
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks affecting the small commercial insurance market
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field
- Six or more years of actuarial experience
- Generally attained ACAS and is working towards FCAS or recently attained FCAS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and analytical software
- Detailed knowledge of actuarial business functions, statistical methods of analysis, and actuarial models
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with Snowflake, SQL, and/or Databricks
- Experience in leading onboarding and training for new associates
- Advanced knowledge of modeling, validation, and predictive modeling techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and business understanding
- Excellent communication skills for building relationships with stakeholders
