Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Sr. Construction Superintendent to oversee facilities construction at Starbase, Texas.

This on-site role leads coordination among design engineers, project managers, facilities teams, vendors, and inspectors to deliver world-class facilities in Brownsville/South Padre area. The role requires 8+ years in construction, 4+ years leading multi-trade coordination, and strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, and related trades.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in the construction industry.
  • 4+ years of experience leading the coordination of multiple construction trades.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, concrete, framing, and industrial gas trades.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Ability to manage projects in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PDF editing tools (Bluebeam/Adobe).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work extended hours.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate facilities projects to ensure vendors meet standards while delivering promised services, materials, and craftsmanship.
  • Plan and direct construction activities of internal resources as well as all involved subcontractors for each phase of construction and lead any coordination meetings between trades.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily logs, progress reports, and financial reports related to the construction of facilities.
  • Enforce contract expectations from subcontractors and communicate any discrepancies.
  • Approve work being performed by subcontractors and handle any related issues.
  • Authorize payments of subcontractors upon thorough inspection of work.
  • Maintain a safe work site by implementing safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits, and observing OSHA requirements and any applicable agencies' regulations.
  • Verify all checklists are complete and inspections are scheduled and passed.
  • Monitor cleanliness and hold subcontractors responsible for daily clean-up.
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors to make designated warranty repairs.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with subcontractors, operators, and inspectors.
  • Coordinate inspections with local officials.
  • Review and manage project request tickets, including creating work orders when needed, and managing their completion.
  • Create purchase orders as necessary to support timely project execution, including but not limited to rentals, materials, or subcontractor labor.

SR. CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

As a critical member of the Texas Construction Projects team, you will be responsible for overseeing thecoordination and fieldexecution offacilitiesconstruction projects at Starbase. You will work withdesign engineers,construction project managers, facilitiesand maintenancetechnicians, vendors, and internal partners to support these goals. You will have the opportunity to drive positive changes and own projects from start to finish, with the goal of making the company projects into world-class facilities. This position is based in South Texas (Brownsville/South Padre area).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate facilities projectstoensure vendors meet standards while delivering promised services, materials, and craftsmanship

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 8+years of experience intheconstructionindustry
  • 4+ years of experience leading the coordination of multiple construction trades
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas trades
  • Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods
  • Ability to conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations; ability to mark up and highlight coordination items
  • Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools and PDF editor software such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Standard hours for this position are 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as necessary to meet business needs; flexability required
  • Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support in emergency situations
  • Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (25 lbs.)
  • Occasional travel may be required based on project tasks
  • Willingness to work outdoors in an environment requiring exposure to extreme temperatures and elevations
