Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Sr. Construction Manager Transit based in the Puget Sound Area to lead the design, engineering and construction of rail/transit projects.

You will manage large teams, coordinate with Sound Transit departments and ensure safety, schedules and budgets are met. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering and 15+ years of experience in transportation construction, with strong leadership and client engagement skills.

  • 15+ years of proven construction management experience on transportation projects (transit tunnels, rail).
  • Proven experience with Sound Transit and its departments in delivery, operations and construction.

We're looking for a Sr. Construction Manager Transit to be based in the Puget Sound Area who is excited about working on projects supporting our clients’ business and business practices.

Here's what you'll need

Bachelor’s degree (Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.) Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

  • 15+ years of proven experience in Construction Management working on transportations projects including transit tunnel projects, rail (elevated and at grade).
  • Proven Experience with Sound Transit and its many departments, acting in management role(s) on various delivery, operations and construction projects.
  • Knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements.
  • Proven success managing large teams and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and client engagement skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
  • DBIA Certification

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.

The base salary range for this position is $157,800.00 to $276,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
