Job summary

A Hospitality Development Group is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead hotel renovation and capital improvement projects across an active hospitality portfolio. This role oversees planning through completion, ensuring on-time delivery, budget alignment, and brand/operational standards in live hotel environments.

You will work with hotel leadership, consultants, designers, contractors, and ownership teams to execute complex programs and deliver high-quality results in active properties.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in construction management or construction administration.
  • Hospitality, hotel renovation, or occupied construction experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of budgets, scheduling, and contractor management
  • Experience coordinating consultants and multiple project stakeholders
  • Ability to manage projects in active, operating environments
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of hotel renovation and capital improvement projects
  • Manage project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and construction delivery
  • Coordinate with hotel operations teams, ownership, and brand/architecture groups
  • Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, cost controls, and reporting
  • Oversee contractor procurement, bidding, negotiation, and value engineering
  • Manage design coordination and ensure alignment with brand standards
  • Direct consultants including architects, engineers, and specialty disciplines
  • Handle permitting, approvals, and coordination with government agencies
  • Track and resolve construction issues, conflicts, RFIs, and change orders
  • Review and approve pay applications, invoices, and contract documentation
  • Conduct site visits, job meetings, inspections, and punch list management
  • Ensure quality control and successful project closeout and turnover
  • Coordinate FF&E installation planning and execution with internal teams
  • Manage facility condition assessments and ongoing property evaluations

Essential Job Requirements:

Education: University degree, with preferable specialty in engineering, architecture or construction

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction or architectural construction administration, with preferable experience and understanding in hotel design, FF&E, renovations and operations.

Preferred Skills: Should have personal initiative to get things done with minimal guidance; should evidence historic ability to work easily with others; should show ability to seek out other resources within company to facilitate and expedite the development process

Physical Requirements: Must be able to travel on a regular basis; must maintain professional appearance in manner and dress regardless of circumstances
