Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction inspection experience in quality assurance.
  • Paving Inspector Certification from the Asphalt Institute required.

Job description

Position: Sr. Construction Inspector - Roadway/Pavement

Location: Seattle, WA (Work Location: Anchorage, AK)

Requirements: Must be a US Citizen, pass a federal background review and drug screen

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Inspect airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing to ensure workmanship adherence to contract, plans, and specifications
  • Perform and support three-phase inspection system
  • Provide detailed daily QA reports of on-site activities
  • Review and analyze construction contractor progress
  • Ensure safety compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards
  • Review design documents, log comments, verify as-built drawings
  • Review and validate contractor payment requests
  • Verify daily reports and project schedule adherence
  • Maintain Inspector's Site Inspection Reports
  • Assist with RFI responses, modifications, and change orders
  • Participate in pre-final and final inspections; prepare punch-lists and ensure correction of all items prior to final payment

Experience/Education:

  • High School diploma or GED with ≥7 years of construction inspection experience in quality assurance, airfield runway improvements, roadways, or pavement resurfacing (preferred)
  • Or, Associate Degree or Technical Training Degree with ≥5 years of relevant experience (preferred)
  • Or, Bachelor of Science Degree with ≥3 years of relevant experience (desired)
  • Paving Inspector Certification from the Asphalt Institute required within 30 days of start
  • Experience with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) preferred
  • Knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and safety regulations
  • Proven experience in quality assurance inspections, submittal review, contractor pay verification, daily reporting
  • Experience with Federal Construction projects, especially US Army Corps of Engineers, preferred
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and attention to detail required

QARs may work in remote locations with extreme environmental conditions.
