Job Title: Sr. Construction Inspector – Roadway/Pavement
Work Location: Anchorage, AK

Requirements: Must be a US Citizen, pass a federal background review, and drug screen
Responsibilities:
- Inspect airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing to ensure workmanship adherence to contract, plans, and specifications.
- Perform and support a three-phase inspection system.
- Provide detailed daily QA reports documenting on-site activities.
- Review and analyze construction contractor progress.
- Ensure safety compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards.
- Review design documents, log comments, and verify as-built drawings.
- Review and validate contractor payment requests.
- Review daily reports and verify project schedule activities.
- Maintain an Inspector's Site Inspection Report.
- Assist with RFIs, modifications, and change orders.
- Participate in pre-final and final inspections, prepare punch-lists, and ensure correction of all punch list items prior to final payment.
Experience/Education:
- High School diploma or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience, preferably on airfield runway improvements, roadways, or pavement resurfacing.
- Or, an Associate Degree or Technical Training Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Or, a Bachelor of Science Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Paving Inspector Certification from the Asphalt Institute required within 30 days of start.
- Experience with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) preferred.
- Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and safety standards.
- Proven experience in quality assurance inspections, submittal reviews, verifying contractor pay requests, and daily reporting.
- Experience with Federal Construction projects, especially US Army Corps of Engineers, preferred.
- Professional presentation, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail required.
Additional Notes: QARs may work in remote locations with extreme environmental conditions (heat or cold).
