This role ensures delivery of construction inspections for civil engineering assignments, ensuring smooth design execution and striving to achieve the highest degree of client satisfaction.

The Senior Construction Inspector typically serves as the designated Engineer-in-Charge for a given project, working with seasoned civil engineers and other multidisciplinary professionals to perform work for roadway, water treatment and distribution/collection and storm sewer projects, as well as other engineering and infrastructure assignments. Reporting to a Project Manager or Principal Engineer, you are responsible for overseeing all facets of field work, maintaining contract quantity records, supervising junior inspectors and ensuring perfect adherence to outlined plans and specifications. You are a diligent, methodical teammate with exceptional interpersonal skills and an acute ability to consistently provide deliverables on time or ahead of schedule.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Ten (10) years of construction inspection experience related to civil engineering – or a degree in civil engineering, civil technology or construction management from an accredited institution
  • CPESC, OSHA 10, NICET Level IV (or equivalent) certifications
  • Ability to easily interpret complex construction plans and specifications
  • Proficient in assembling detailed reports
  • Experience with industry data management programs to file reports, photographs and other data as needed
  • General computer skills, including experience using a Tablet as well as Microsoft Office programs
  • You have a valid driver’s license

CORE DUTIES

  • Collaborate with clients through the design, bidding and construction processes, eliminating the need for them to engage multiple consultants
  • Provide oversight for all field observation/inspection activities
  • Verify compliance with predetermined project plans and specifications
  • Consolidate information to assemble daily construction reports and other documentation
  • Maintain daily contract quantity records, including relevant information in each report
  • Coordinate with owners, contractors, regulatory agencies, utility officials and other external personnel as necessary
  • Provide supervision to less experienced inspectors

The rate for this position generally ranges between $32-40 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
