Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sr. Construction Inspector to join our team, supporting the construction of water, wastewater, and water quality improvement projects, including pipelines, stream bank stabilization, stormwater management, and ecological restoration. The ideal candidate will act as the Owner’s Agent, ensuring that projects are completed in accordance with design plans, specifications, codes, and permits. This role involves on-site construction observation, coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, and the preparation of project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Resident Project Representative and conduct on-site observations during the construction of utility pipelines, and water quality improvement projects such as stream bank stabilization and stormwater management.
  • Coordinate and communicate with multi-discipline teams, including owners, contractors, regulatory agencies, and third-party inspection/testing firms.
  • Participate in construction project meetings, including preconstruction conferences and progress meetings.
  • Document project progress through daily reports, verifying material quantities, and reviewing payment applications.
  • Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and construction methods typical of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, as well as ecological restoration.
  • Perform constructability reviews, research and provide timely solutions to engineering and construction issues.
  • Assist the PM in reviewing change orders and claims.
  • Analyze contractor’s Critical Path Method (CPM) progress schedules and provide feedback.
Qualifications
  • B.S. or Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or Natural Resource Science, or equivalent field experience in utility construction and/or waterway improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with construction materials testing, ecological restoration, and civil engineering methods.
  • Ability to safely navigate active construction sites.
  • Willingness to travel locally to project sites as needed.
Compensation

$80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
