Job summary

Apple’s Creativity Apps team is seeking a Sr. Computer Vision & ML Engineer to craft agentic workflows and user-facing ML for creative tools.

You will design multi-step workflows, build and evaluate vision models end-to-end, and collaborate to deploy models into runtimes and orchestration frameworks. You should have a PhD (or MS) in CS/ML and 4+ years of industry experience in generative AI or computer vision, with strong ML theory, practical skills in Python/C++, and familiarity with Core ML,

• Production deployment of agentic systems; AI reliability and safety.
• Fine-tuning LLMs or adapters for foundation models.

Responsibilities

• Design agentic workflows that solve multi-step user problems using model tool contracts, schemas, and orchestration logic
• Build vision models end-to-end, including data collection, architecture design, and training
• Create evaluation frameworks for agentic workflows, including task success metrics, benchmarks, and regression testing
• Partner with client teams to integrate models and workflows into model runtimes and orchestration frameworks
• Collaborate cross-functionally to take ML-powered features for creators from concept through delivery

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Experience deploying agentic systems to production, with work in AI reliability, safety, or benchmarking
• Experience fine-tuning LLMs or training adapters for foundation models
• Experience optimizing models for resource-constrained platforms, ideally using Core ML, Swift, and iOS/macOS
• Strong patent and publication record at top conferences
• Keen interest in the art and science of photography
• MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field plus 4+ years of industry experience delivering products in generative AI, machine learning, or computer vision
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of machine learning and deep learning
• Experience building and evaluating LLM/VLM-powered agents, including tool use, multi-step reasoning, planning, and context management
• Hands-on experience building, training, and deploying transformer-based vision models, GANs, or related methods
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ and experience with a deep learning framework such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow
• Creative problem solving with strong communication and collaboration skills

Pay & Benefits Notes

At Apple, base pay is one part of total compensation and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple benefit, compensation, and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program. Additional benefits may include discretionary bonuses or commission payments and relocation (where eligible).
