Job summary

e-STORAGE in the United States is seeking a Sr. Commissioning Technician to join our commissioning team.

You will work with the commissioning engineer and manager to commission BESS sites, perform safety checks, inspections, and functional tests, and support the overall control system validation. This role requires travel to project sites across the country and occasional international assignments, with a hands-on, safety‑driven mindset and experience in battery storage systems and relevant

Qualifications

• Educational background in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of commissioning and/or systems engineering experience in renewable energy.
• Hands-on experience with battery storage systems and MV installations.
• Familiarity with NEC/UL code compliance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Commission BESS sites using SolBank Storage Power Block within a commissioning team.
• Perform safety system checks, installation inspections, and functional tests.
• Test network connectivity and perform point-to-point tests of field devices.
• Maintain commissioning checklists and update issues list; monitor asset performance.
• Provide on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support.
• Supervise subcontractors on-site when required.
• Assist with testing documentation and timely test reports.
• Ensure proper LOTO and switching procedures are observed.

The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel and complete tasks at various project sites throughout the country and, on occasion, internationally. Experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a commissioning or service environment is required. This role is expected to spend over 75% of their time at project sites in Texas, Arizona, California, and others as needed.**Responsibilities:*** Commission BESS sites using CSI Energy Storage’s Solbank Storage Power Block as part of a commissioning team* Perform tasks assigned by the commissioning manager and engineer, such as safety system checks, installation inspections, and functional tests* Support the commissioning of the overall control system by testing the network connectivity of all field devices and performing point-to-point tests* Perform daily routine tasks such as executing commissioning checklists, reviewing and updating the issues list, and helping to monitor the performance of commissioned assets* Provide on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support* Supervise subcontractors on-site where required* Assist with the completion of testing documentation and preparation of test reports in a timely manner* Ensure proper LOTO and switching procedures are observed as required* Support client and operation and maintenance contractor training during and after commissioning**Required Qualifications and Skills:*** Educational background in Engineering or a related field* At least 3 years of relevant experience in commissioning and/or systems engineering within the renewable energy sector* Hands-on experience in battery storage systems, medium voltage stations, and/or related products/systems* Previous experience with a CMMS software program preferred* Hands-on experience in system engineering and a solid understanding of related regulatory standards, including NEC/UL code compliance* Proficient in MV Electrical Installations, Ampacity Calculations, Short circuit/load flow, Protective Device Coordination, Arc Flash, Grounding per IEEE80, and other relevant design topics* Excellent time management skills; able to balance multiple projects and prioritize a broad variety of issues, initiatives, and objectives concurrently*e-STORAGE is Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
