Job Description:

Responsible for preparing statistical reports, coding diseases and operations according to accepted classification systems, and maintaining indices according to policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate as RHIA or RHIT from an AHIMA-approved program preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years recent inpatient and outpatient coding experience; ability to crossover between all coding types with 95% accuracy.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer use, analytical skills, ICD 9-CM/CPT coding knowledge.
  • License/Certification: RHIT/RHIA or CCS credential required.
  • Other: Knowledge of coding procedures, reimbursement systems, excellent communication skills, and strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
