Job summary

United Precision Corporation is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to independently set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis centers. You will read complex drawings, apply GD&T, select tooling, and troubleshoot issues to meet tight quality requirements.

The role demands mentoring machinists, leading continuous improvement, and collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support new product launches and prototypes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 8+ years’ CNC machining experience.
• Extensive experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills.
• Advanced blueprint reading skills.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and application.
• Expert use of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis centers.
• Read complex drawings and process docs; apply GD&T for setup and inspection.
• Select tooling, workholding, and strategies for efficient production.
• Troubleshoot machines, tooling, programming, and quality issues.
• Lead process improvements to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
• Mentor Machinist I–III and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
• Support new product launches and prototype work.
