BCBSNE offers three work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid, and 100% remote. Remote roles can be located in Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Texas.

This position is responsible for the infrastructure and security of the company's Microsoft Azure environment. It involves designing, building, and configuring the environment, planning and implementing technology infrastructure, and developing operational solutions. The role provides support to both business and security teams, assists with deploying security controls, and acts as a primary resource during security incidents.

What You'll Do

1. Act as a technical expert for infrastructure and security issues, ensuring security tools meet business, security, and compliance needs while protecting user data.
2. Lead the security team in tactical and technical decisions.
3. Collaborate with technology leads to design and implement all aspects of the Microsoft Azure environment and advise on system architecture decisions.
4. Develop and implement security technologies and processes related to data protection, cryptography, key management, and identity and access management.
5. Develop, integrate, and deploy security cloud technologies, including alerts, sensors, and tools.
6. Configure network components and security rules.
7. Document support procedures and train staff on these procedures.
8. Design and implement disaster recovery solutions.
9. Manage network and application security scanning solutions.
10. Investigate new technologies and create roadmaps for the solution portfolio.
11. Assist with compliance initiatives and controls implementation.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in IT, including 4 years in information security.
• Expertise in cloud security standards and best practices.
• Experience with systems management and automation tools like ARM templates and PowerShell.
• Strong communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership.
• Excellent collaboration skills and adaptability to ambiguity.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The role may require on-call work and the ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements. The candidate should work well in teams and maintain positive relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Operations Management Suite, Azure Security Center, Microsoft Intune, and Azure access control technologies.
• Project management experience.
• Certifications such as CEH, CISSP, or Security+.
