Job summary

Global C2 Integration Technologies is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to modernize and scale network architecture for a global platform spanning remote sites, hubs, and AWS cloud environments.

You will design hybrid architectures, build VPC fabrics, and integrate physical networks with cloud networking and security appliances. The role emphasizes IaC, observability, and capacity planning to ensure high availability and reliable connectivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in network engineering or related field.
• Hands-on AWS networking in production (VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN/IPsec, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Route 53).
• Strong IP networking fundamentals (BGP, NAT, DNS, HA).
• Experience connecting physical networks to cloud-based virtual networks.
• Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform or equivalent).
• Troubleshooting across network, platform, and application boundaries.
• Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical, globally distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

GC2IT is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to modernize and scale network architecture for a mission-critical global platform spanning remote sites, centralized hubs, and AWS cloud environments. The role combines deep networking fundamentals, cloud networking, automation, and telemetry-driven operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement hybrid network architectures spanning field sites, centralized environments, and AWS.
• Build and modernize VPC-based network fabrics using AWS services.
• Integrate physical firewalls, routed networks, and VPN-connected sites with virtual cloud networking and security appliances.
• Reduce dependence on static routing and static public IP-heavy designs through software-defined and policy-driven network patterns.
• Design for burst traffic, event-driven surges, failover, and high availability.
• Create repeatable network deployments using Terraform, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Improve network observability through flow logs, metrics, synthetic tests, alerting, and telemetry pipelines.
• Contribute to AIOps and capacity planning initiatives using telemetry for anomaly detection, forecasting, and faster incident response.
• Partner with cloud platform, field communications, software, observability, and security teams to deliver reliable end-to-end connectivity.

Required Qualifications

• Eight or more years of experience in network engineering, cloud networking, or hybrid infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS networking in production, including VPC design, Transit Gateway, VPN/IPsec, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Route 53, security segmentation, and routing design.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including IP networking, routing, BGP, NAT, DNS, high availability/failover, and network security fundamentals.
• Experience connecting physical networks into cloud-based virtual networks.
• Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure‑as‑code tooling.
• Experience troubleshooting across network, platform, and application boundaries.
• Experience supporting high‑availability, mission‑critical, or globally distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with virtual firewalls/appliances such as Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent.
• Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with SD‑WAN, network virtualization, or large‑scale WAN modernization.
• Experience with network observability tools such as Grafana, ELK, Kibana, flow‑log analysis, and synthetic monitoring.
• Experience applying AIOps, analytics, or ML‑assisted techniques to anomaly detection, capacity planning, traffic analysis, and incident reduction.
• Experience supporting remote systems and low‑bandwidth or unreliable connections.
• AWS certifications or equivalent practical cloud networking depth.
