Job Description

Sensia is looking for a self-organized and experienced Cloud Engineer who can define, implement, and manage Microsoft Azure subscriptions and resources. The ideal candidate is experienced in Microsoft cloud-based technologies, with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and ability to deploy them to help our business become more efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, advanced industry knowledge and effective performance / cost optimisation is key to the success of this role. From day one, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our cloud operations, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant technical field.
  • Advanced English level (MANDATORY).
  • Minimum of 6 years in a cloud engineering role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms.
  • Experience in architecting and designing technical solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraforms and/or other configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, etc.
  • Experience of reviewing and managing Azure resources to optimise Sensia costs.
  • Knowledge of authentication (SAML/OAuth/OIDC), MFA, and RBAC.
  • Proven experience of Microsoft Power Platform in technologies like Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate that deliver enhanced business value.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with relational, graph and/or unstructured data technologies such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of Azure services, including FrontDoor, Application Gateway and Logic Apps.
  • Experience in network architecture, including VNet, VPN, and ExpressRoute.
  • Proven experience working with Azure Virtual Desktop in a professional environment.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for AVD automation and management.
  • Extensive, real-world experience designing technology components for enterprise solutions with a focus on cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud security controls including conditional access policies, tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
  • Experience building and supporting mission critical technology components with Disaster Recovery capabilities.
Typical Duties
  • Work with the business teams who utilise the subscriptions and resources to understand their needs and to evaluate, identify and deploy optimal cloud solutions.
  • Optimising existing solutions for both performance and cost inline with best practices.
  • Advise business teams on best practises to implement new cloud technologies.
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  • Identifying, analysing, and resolving application deployment issues.
  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Work with the Cloud Architect to define Sensia’s cloud strategy and standards.
  • Develop and deploy effective Azure cloud architectures, utilising standardised deployment tools.
  • Execute the hands-on implementation of proposed solutions and provide technical guidance to teams during the solutions’ development and deployment phases.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
  • Collaborate and partner with Rockwell IT teams in accordance with agreed governance.
