Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer to design and automate configuration of public cloud environments (Azure and AWS) and to integrate AI automation workflows.

You will develop Infrastructure as Code, manage repositories, and collaborate on cloud strategies, while providing technical guidance and training to end users. Some travel (~10%) to other offices may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with public cloud (Azure and AWS).
• Experience automating with Infrastructure as Code using ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell.
• Cross-functional IT experience across storage, network and database infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Windows and Linux servers.
• Experience with AI-assisted tooling to streamline cloud operations.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work on designing and automating the configuration of public cloud environments such as Azure and AWS and also incorporating AI automation workflows.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Identifies and resolves problems related to public cloud infrastructure in a timely manner and analyzes information skillfully.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code to build and maintain public cloud environments.
• Update and maintain git repositories
• Focuses on solving technical problems in a fast-paced environment
• Contributes to the development of strategies, policies, and best practices through participation in team meetings and other direct contributions.
• Provides technical guidance and end user training.
• Initiates professionalism, excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Works independently as well as in a cooperative team environment.
• Demonstrates fast and independent learning capabilities.
• Some travel to offices in other regions may be required (10%).

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience and knowledge of public cloud (Azure and AWS)
• Ability to automate with Infrastructure as Code using a variety of technology types (ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell)
• Cross-functional IT expertise (storage, network and database infrastructure)
• Strong experience with both Windows and Linux servers
• Experience leveraging automation platforms and AI‑assisted tooling (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, AIOps/ML‑driven monitoring tools) to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual effort.
• Experience with knowledge of public cloud networking architecture used with Azure (vNet, load balancers, Virtual WAN, VPN, Express Route) and AWS (VPC, load balancers, transit gateway, VPN, Direct Connect)
• Experience with knowledge of public cloud identity and access management methods
• Excellent documentation, intercommunication, and interpersonal skills
• Advanced organizational and time management skills

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Good Understanding and implementation of ITIL concepts
• Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)
• Artifact binary repository management
• Extensive scripting experience (Bash, Ansible, Python, Groovy, Powershell, etc.)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Knowledge of configuration file types (YAML, JSON)
• Experience with AI assisted tooling
• Familiar with DevOps practices
• Have a strong sense of networking in public cloud

Salary Range:

$103,500.00 - $181,100.00
