A leading company in clinical development is seeking a Clinical Programmer to utilize their expertise in software development and data management. The role involves leading programming activities, ensuring quality deliverables, and collaborating with project teams. • Utilizes primary development tools including Medidata, Rave, Oracle OC/RDC, Oracle Inform, and/or SAS, and supporting tools to design, write, validate, and maintain software according to specifications, following standard development procedures.
• Generates and maintains documentation such as specifications, programs, validation efforts, annotated CRFs, database creation, coding configuration, edit check procedures, import/export setup, listings, and custom reports.
• Serves on project teams to coordinate and lead clinical programming activities, attends meetings, participates in discussions, and provides constructive feedback. Keeps project management informed of issues affecting timelines, scope, or budget, and escalates problems promptly. Manages multiple tasks and communicates resource needs effectively.
• Provides technical support to clinical programming staff, Project Analysts, Data Managers, and others involved in software development, including support for specifications, coding, validation, and support of core applications.
• Acts as a subject matter expert for application administration and technical support of core business packages such as Oracle Inform, Rave, RDC, SAS, and other tools.
• Ensures high-quality deliverables through senior review and participates in sponsor audits.
• Reviews study budgets, monitors scope of work, and manages change orders, providing detailed input and support.
• Monitors applications for workflow alerts, errors, and performance issues; provides second-tier help desk support as needed.
• Performs system integration, application updates, and user acceptance testing.
• Provides leadership, training, and guidance within the department, collaborating with clients and team members to clarify and finalize specifications, and adapting to evolving project needs.
• Participates in project meetings and departmental reviews.
• Attends Quick Start Camps (QSCs) as the lead Clinical Programmer for assigned studies.
• Leads clinical programming activities across multiple studies, managing resources and proactively communicating needs.
• Maintains broad knowledge in clinical programming and data management through ongoing learning and professional development.
