About The Team

The Senior Clinical Engineer (Post-Market) will work closely with cross-functional commercial support teams to represent clinical value propositions, safety considerations, and best-practice usage guidance for patients and providers during post-market activities.

A Day In The Life Of Our Sr. Clinical Engineer

  1. Develop expertise in clinical domains relevant to the company’s products, including understanding the end-user and patient environment, relevant anatomy, disease states, and scientific literature.
  2. Conduct Post-Market Surveillance investigations related to Use Errors and Adverse Events, including serious injury, death complaints, and use errors, providing clinical conclusions for reports and escalating as needed.
  3. Collaborate with teams such as clinical engineering, human factors, and engineering to analyze complaint data, identify trends, and suggest design improvements.
  4. Work with Medical Education and Sales Training teams to update training materials based on complaint data and system issues.
  5. Lead the development of improved usage techniques and support the Service and Commercial teams during new installations and product launches.
  6. Contribute to documentation during product development for quality and regulatory purposes.
  7. Plan and coordinate project timelines and resource allocation for cross-functional projects.
  8. Oversee pre-clinical evaluation strategies for product development efforts aligning with business goals.
  9. Mentor and develop a team of clinical engineers, fostering innovation and excellence.
  10. Proactively evaluate emerging clinical technologies and assess their potential impact on product strategy.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the medical devices industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science; Master’s preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of ISO 14971, 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying concepts and ideas.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, clinical terminology, and surgical techniques.
  • Understanding of robotics or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience in regulated medical device environments, including document control, design control, protocol development, and report writing.
  • Experience working with healthcare providers in hospital settings.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.

Pay Transparency

The pay range for this position is $100,000—$150,000 USD, with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401K, stock plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and flexible work arrangements. Actual pay will depend on skills, experience, education, and location, and may include incentives.

California Pay Range: $100,000—$150,000 USD
