Actalent is seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Contracts Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of clinical contracts and support vendor management within a global clinical research environment. • Proficient with contract management systems and ERP platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of clinical contracts from drafting to closeout.

Clinical Contracts SpecialistPosition Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Clinical Contracts Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of clinical contracts and support vendor management activities within a global clinical research environment. This role serves as a key partner to Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and external vendors, ensuring contracts, purchase orders, and invoices are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical contract negotiation experience, financial acumen, and the ability to drive operational improvements while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end clinical contract lifecycle, including drafting, review, negotiation, execution, amendments, and closeout activities.
• Lead clinical trial contract negotiations with vendors, sites, and service providers while ensuring alignment with legal, financial, operational, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate vendor onboarding processes and maintain complete, accurate vendor documentation and records.
• Create, monitor, and manage purchase orders to support clinical trial operations and timely vendor payments.
• Review, process, and reconcile vendor invoices, partnering with Finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure prompt payment processing.
• Collaborate closely with Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and external partners to support contracting and budget management activities.
• Maintain contract, vendor, and financial data within contract management systems, ERP platforms, and other related systems.
• Generate reports and provide insights related to contracts, budgets, spend tracking, and vendor performance.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial controls, GCP requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Serve as a subject matter resource for contract and vendor-related inquiries, escalating risks and resolving issues as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, standardize processes, and enhance overall contract and vendor management practices.
• Support global clinical trial startup and ongoing study operations through effective contract and vendor oversight.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in clinical contract management, vendor management, clinical operations, or a related function within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or healthcare industry.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing clinical trial agreements and vendor contracts.
• Strong understanding of clinical research processes and industry regulations.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and external vendors.
• Knowledge of budgeting, purchase order management, invoice processing, and financial tracking.
• Proficiency with contract management systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate effectively.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a global clinical research organization, pharmaceutical company, biotechnology company, or CRO.
• Background in Clinical Operations, Clinical Trial Startup, Site Management, or Clinical Research Associate (CRA) roles.
• Experience supporting vendor financial management, including budgets, forecasting, PO management, and invoice reconciliation.
• Familiarity with clinical trial agreements (CTAs), master service agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOWs), and confidentiality agreements (CDAs).
• Experience leading or contributing to process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Remote, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
