Manages the complete investigation, evaluation, and resolution of assigned portfolio of complex claims emanating from the lawyers' professional and miscellaneous professional liability business segments. Engages, directs, and manages external advisors and vendors, including legal service professionals, discovery vendors, data and security experts, and consultants across a highly complex portfolio of matters.

The Opportunity

Manage the complete investigation, evaluation, and resolution of assigned portfolio of complex claims from the lawyers' professional and miscellaneous professional liability segments. Engage, direct, and manage external advisors and vendors including legal service professionals, discovery vendors, data and security experts, and consultants across highly complex matters.

Your new role
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of complex claims, including conducting fact, liability, and loss investigations, and interpreting insurance contracts effectively and efficiently.
  • Evaluate and negotiate claim resolutions in a timely manner, within authority, and in compliance with laws, regulations, statutes, and best practices.
  • Drive high customer care, responsiveness, and satisfaction to deliver superior claim outcomes.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel to formulate litigation strategies ensuring desired outcomes and effective management.
  • Manage external advisors and vendors including legal professionals, discovery vendors, data and security experts, and consultants.
  • Oversee projects and initiatives to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Analyze, develop, and determine appropriate case reserves, recommending changes to ensure actuarial accuracy.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in professional liability areas, disseminate information, and lead thought leadership.
  • Represent QBE in industry seminars and author articles on professional liability topics.
  • Collaborate with Underwriters to identify and address complex risks, participate in sales calls and RFPs.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Own personal development, skill enhancement, and career growth.
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecast expenditures, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
Required Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience

8 years relevant experience.

Compensation Package

The salary range is as stated; offers depend on role complexity, location, and candidate background. Additional benefits include an annual discretionary bonus.
