Job summary

Bold Business is seeking a design-driven Sr. CET Interior Designer to lead the technical execution of office environments for complex scopes. You will guide design strategy and serve as a key resource across teams, supporting multinational clients globally with buildable, high-performance spaces.

You will mentor Designers I/II, coordinate with sales leadership and external partners, and produce innovative workspace solutions and compelling visuals to win business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field (FIDER or CIDA-accredited programs preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of progressive commercial furniture or workplace design experience.
  • Advanced mastery of CET Designer (Configura) and AutoCAD, including detailed drawings and revisions.
  • Strong working knowledge of ProjectSpec and Microsoft Office.
  • Deep understanding of systems furniture, product specifications, and technical applications.
  • Highly organized, solutions-driven, and detail-oriented with autonomy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical execution of CET drawings and complex furniture plans.
  • Produce detailed space plans and buildable product specifications.
  • Coordinate documentation and installation packages with project teams.
  • Conduct field verifications and resolve discrepancies between plans and site conditions.
  • Partner with Account Executives, VP of Sales, clients, A&D firms, contractors, and technical partners.
  • Represent the design function in client meetings and presentations.
  • Provide regular updates to Design Managers and Sales leadership while guiding project direction.

Job description

We are seeking a design-driven Sr. CET Interior Designer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the technical execution of office spaces for complex design scopes, guide design strategy, and serve as a vital technical, product, and process resource for the broader team. Representing a top-tier U.S. commercial furniture dealer handling major brands like Haworth, Steelcase, Kimball, and Teknion, you will support multinational clients globally, translating intricate requirements into highly sophisticated, buildable, and high-performance commercial workplace environments.

As a seasoned professional, you will manage detailed documentation, mentor junior designers, and contribute directly to design operations. Partnering with sales leadership, Account Executives, and external partners, you will produce innovative workspace solutions, space plans, and polished visual presentations that win business and inspire global brands

Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Execution
  • Advanced Visuals & Plans: Lead the development of detailed CET drawings, complex furniture plans, product specifications, high-quality 3D visuals, and presentation materials that align with sales strategy.
  • Space Planning & Standards: Lead detailed space planning efforts, integrating complex systems furniture, architectural plans, site conditions, and strict commercial codes (ADA, LEED, WELL) into accurate designs.
  • Documentation & Installation Packages: Produce and oversee installation drawings and supporting documentation packages, ensuring constructability, clear alignment with project intent, and seamless order entry/as-builts
  • Accuracy & Field Coordination: Conduct field verifications, inventories, and onsite measurements. Identify and resolve discrepancies between plans, specifications, field conditions, and installation requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner strategically with Account Executives, VP of Sales, clients, architectural & design (A&D) firms, contractors, and technical partners (IT, electrical, etc.) to shape project vision.
  • Client Representation: Represent the design function confidently and professionally in client-facing meetings, presentations, and value-alignment discussions.
  • Project Oversight: Provide proactive, regular updates to Design Managers, Team Leads, and Sales leadership while helping steer project direction, risks, and priorities
Leadership, Quality Control & Innovation
  • Mentorship: Mentor Designer I and Designer II team members through technical guidance, drawing reviews, product knowledge, and process coaching.
  • Quality Control: Own design operations standards and workflow improvements, thoroughly reviewing all project deliverables prior to release.
  • Market Insight: Stay ahead of product innovations, workplace ergonomics, manufacturer resources, and sustainability considerations, sharing insights across the team.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field (FIDER or CIDA-accredited programs preferred).
  • Experience: 3–5+ years of progressive commercial furniture or workplace design industry experience, with specific background in furniture dealership projects and complex commercial interiors.
  • Software Expertise: Advanced mastery and proficiency in CET Designer (Configura) and AutoCAD are required, including complex drawing production, specifications, and revisions. Strong working knowledge of ProjectSpec and Microsoft Office.
  • Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of systems furniture, product specifications, ancillary solutions, finish selections, and technical applications.
  • Mindset & Soft Skills: Highly organized, solutions-driven, and detail-oriented. Possesses the independence and judgment to work with significant autonomy in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple complex projects.
