Qualifications

Position Summary

Department: Orlando Health Physician Associates - Spring Lake Pediatrics

Status: Full-Time | 40 hours per week

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Title: Sr. Certified Medical Assistant

The Senior Certified Medical Assistant performs patient care under the supervision of the physician or advanced practice provider (APP) in an ambulatory setting. Acts as a leader to help drive quality care and mentor for professional practice.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable to the Nurse Manager or Practice Manager for operational issues.
  • Participates in quality initiatives and clinical outcome improvements.
  • Provides effective communication with patients and families.
  • Collaborates with staff and supports patient data collection, preparation, and assistance during examinations and procedures.
  • Performs routine treatments, administers medications, and documents care appropriately.
  • Acts as a liaison for scheduling and specialty consultations.
  • Supports orientation and training of Medical Assistants and participates in quality strategies.
  • Maintains attendance and compliance with policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of approved Medical Assistant training or 5 years of applicable experience.
  • Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
  • Certification as CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or NCMA (NCCT).
  • Minimum three years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
