Leverage technical expertise to create and implement strategic sourcing strategies for one or more categories of spend across multiple business units. Drive business value and mitigate risk in procurements through competitive bidding, negotiation of commercial and legal terms, and analysis of data and market trends. Collaborate with suppliers and internal business partners including Legal and business unit leadership to drive efficiencies, reduce risk and manage costs. Support the Business Units' Emergency Response activities as assigned.
Primary Duties
- Develop sourcing strategies and lead key sourcing initiatives. Participate in periodic special project' initiatives. Accountable for category purchases (including tactical); become involved on an as-needed basis to resolve emergent issues. (25%)
- Maintain and own the position of primary contact for the resolution of systemic/recurring supplier/customer issues. Develop close working relationships with supplier and end customers. Monitor supplier performance to ensure that contract terms and conditions are being met or exceeded; and performance meets customer expectations. Manage and/or support supplier alliance process and own/manage all supplier relationships. Lead and/or support all supplier relationship development programs and suppler alliance periodic meetings. (25%)
- Lead personnel (both within and external to Supply) to achieve objectives across related categories and/or across multiple sourcing initiatives. Prioritize competing needs and assign tasks to support strategic sourcing initiatives and other Supply projects, as appropriate. (20%)
- Manage categories and provide oversight and governance of associated purchases cybersecurity, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and its Critical Infrastructure Program (CIP), and vendor affiliation governance processes; perform category spend and risk analysis; and design and implement category and supplier risk mitigation strategies. (10%)
- Lead negotiations of commercial and legal terms with new and incumbent vendors to mitigate risk, increase value for internal customers, and provide flexibility to meet the organization needs (10%)
- Provide direction to contract administrators, procurement and sourcing specialists and other supply personnel, as appropriate, within assigned business and spend categories. (5%)
- Identify and implement sourcing and category management best practices. Understand, track and forecast market trends to maintain category knowledge and business acumen. (5%)
Job Scope
Sourcing activities of one or more categories of technical or complex materials or services. Independent decision making while performing typical job duties. Manage material or service categories within and across business units with consideration of total process life cycle costs, business unit needs, Exelon goals, and risk profiles. Continuous improvement of the Supply organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, science or related field with 4-7 years' experience or in lieu of degree, 6-9 years of experience.
- Demonstrated project and change management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of category and supply management concepts.
- Adept and persuasive communicator (verbal, written).
- Cross functional/organizational team management and facilitation skills (internal and external).
- Demonstrated data analysis capability and MS Office applications expertise
- Demonstrated negotiation skills. Ability to hold Suppliers accountable for performance.
- Conflict management experience.
- Technical aptitude (category-specific requirement)
- Availability for travel across Exelon sites, Supplier locations and business units; as business needs dictate.

- Advertising & Marketing sourcing experience
- Demonstrated understanding of entire' Exelon supply chain and cost drivers.
