Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in La Palma, CA, is seeking a Sr. Category Analyst to develop category insights and strategic recommendations for assigned customers or channels, with a focus on Asian food products.

You will create retailer category reviews, support joint business planning, and lead cross-functional discussions to drive category growth. The role also involves advanced reporting, mentoring junior analysts, and optimizing assortment, pricing, and promotions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of analytics experience in CPG, food, or related industry.
• Advanced proficiency with syndicated data (Nielsen, Circana/IRI).
• Advanced Excel and data visualization skills.
• Experience using planogram software (e.g., JDA) is a plus.

This role creates customer-facing reports and presentations in collaboration with internal teams. The Sr. Category Analyst also mentors junior team members and serves as a key thought partner influencing customer and business strategy.

What You Will Do:

What You Will Bring:

• 3+ years of experience in CPG, food, beverage, or related industry analytics.
• High proficiency in syndicated data (Nielsen, Circana/IRI).

• Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.

What We Offer:

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $125,000 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
