Job summary

ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Sr Buyer, Raw Materials in Tulsa, OK to drive strategic sourcing for steel and aluminum coils and related categories. You will manage suppliers, negotiate terms, and lead POs from requisitions while ensuring delivery, quality, and cost targets.

With 5+ years in procurement in manufacturing and strong data analysis skills, you will build supplier relationships, run cost-saving initiatives, and support cross-functional teams to meet business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, or Engineering.
• 5+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing including supplier performance management.
• At least 3 years purchasing steel coil and aluminum extrusions.
• ERP proficiency to execute transactions and extract data for analysis.
• MS Office; strong Word and Excel skills.
• Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation abilities.
• Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders from requisitions; confirms/follows up on orders, researches and resolves late deliveries, order changes, and invoice discrepancies.
• Responsible for efficient handling of day-to-day issues related to raw material availability and quality.
• Identify and execute cost savings initiatives to reduce spend in target categories by X% per year as established in annual goals.
• Evaluate new and existing suppliers; monitor supplier performance and ensure corrective actions for under-performing suppliers.
• Interpret specifications and other requirements from manufacturing to obtain vendor quotations.
• Assemble facts and data to make informed sourcing decisions balancing financial, manufacturing, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Analyze spend and vendor performance to identify trends and opportunities; uses excel modeling tools to forecast scenarios.
• Occasional travel, including some overnight travel; travel locally between locations and to vendor sites.

Sr Buyer, Raw Materials | ASSA ABLOY# Sr Buyer, Raw Materials**Description:**The Senior Buyer will demonstrate competencies in market and forecast/demand analysis, procurement-related activities (sourcing, supplier management, negotiations, and purchase order management) for raw material (steel & aluminum) commodities and other assigned categories. Key performance indicators for this role include delivering annual cost-saving projects and negotiating with suppliers on long-term supply management. The Senior Buyer will also demonstrate strong and agile project management skills and will build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal customers to facilitate achievement of key business initiatives.**Responsibilities:**To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations the essential duties identified below.
