PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Summary: Directs activities associated with the SCMG managed global spend for a designated commodity category. Responsible for identifying and evaluating North American opportunities within the commodity category for spend reduction, process consolidation, and supply continuity. Manages Dana contracts within the category and reports on related metrics. Delivers continuous improvements in cost, process, and services. Handles requests for information (RFI) or quotes (RFQ) and generates recommendations based on Total Cost of Ownership comparisons. Monitors and reports on activities related to the commodity category.
• Establish and execute strategy for the assigned commodity.
• Formulate annual business plans to achieve cost reductions and performance improvements year over year.
• Manage and negotiate supply agreements to improve costs, delivery, quality, lead times, payment cycles, technology, and risk mitigation.
• Initiate renegotiations before contract expirations and monitor industry trends for advantageous contracting opportunities.
• Obtain and analyze quotes to determine best value; recommend global sourcing solutions based on data.
• Understand key cost drivers and industry events related to the category.
• Monitor supplier performance to meet quality, delivery, service, and cost objectives.
• Coordinate supplier selection and lead transitions.
• Ensure supplier contractual compliance.
• Identify opportunities for leveraging global volume and purchasing power.
• Ensure the commodity's contribution to departmental and corporate objectives.
• Present project updates and results to Dana management as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business (Supply Chain Management or Purchasing preferred) or Engineering (Product or Manufacturing).
• Strong team player with effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintains a professional and organized demeanor when representing Dana.
• Willing to travel approximately 10%.
