Are you a data-driven innovator with a passion for transforming complex data sets into insightful, user-friendly dashboards? We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer with expertise in AWS QuickSight, SQL, and data analysis to drive strategic decision-making across the organization. This role requires a strong background in UI/UX design, stakeholder collaboration, and Agile methodologies to develop optimized BI solutions that enhance data accessibility and usability.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director of Enterprise Data Services, you will:

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document BI and reporting requirements, translating them into interactive dashboards that drive informed decision-making.

Lead end-to-end development of dashboards and reports, including UI/UX design, SQL/Python query development, data validation, security enforcement, and deployment.

Develop visually engaging and intuitive AWS QuickSight dashboards with a focus on usability, responsiveness, and seamless navigation.

Establish and enforce best practices for BI report layouts, interactivity, and user experience.

Conduct usability testing and analyze user feedback to refine dashboard functionality and design.

Monitor BI system performance, optimize queries, and ensure efficiency across dashboards and data models.

Implement best practices for version control, documentation, and compliance in BI development.

Construct and refine complex SQL/Python queries for scalable data analysis and reusable data products.

Ensure data accuracy, validation, and security to maintain trust in BI solutions.

Utilize Agile methodologies and Jira for project tracking, task management, and iterative improvements.

Provide clear and timely updates to stakeholders on dashboard status, data refreshes, and system changes.

Proactively address stakeholder needs, offering actionable insights and building strong relationships.

Stay ahead of BI trends and emerging technologies to continuously innovate and improve data products.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Experience: 7+ years in BI development, with at least 5 years focused on UI/UX.

Certifications: AWS or other BI certifications preferred (TDWI CBIP, AWS Data Analytics, Data Engineer).

Technical Skills:

Proven experience with large-scale AWS Data Lakehouse architecture.

Proficiency in AWS and other cloud-based analytical and data movement tools.

Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases.

Senior-level SQL skills for complex query building and optimization.

Project Management: Strong experience with Agile methodologies and Jira for tracking and stakeholder engagement.

Communication & Collaboration: Ability to convey complex data and technical concepts in an accessible manner for non-technical audiences.

Problem-Solving & Initiative: A proactive approach to identifying stakeholder needs and enhancing data accessibility.

Industry Knowledge (Preferred): Experience in the insurance or financial sector is a plus.
