UMB Financial Corporation’s Business Banking team seeks a Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager in Overland Park, KS. You will cultivate commercial relationships, assess credit, and expand existing portfolios while promoting non-credit products.

You will lead by example, leverage strong networking and negotiation skills, and deliver measurable growth by providing treasury, deposits, and digital banking solutions to local businesses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a commercial lending role (up to 7 years).
• Experience in sales to small businesses, credit knowledge, and credit underwriting knowledge.
• Bonus points for strategic industry sales knowledge and marketing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Leverage networking in the community to build new business and enhance UMB’s image and brand.
• Qualify loan opportunities and manage credit quality of assigned portfolio to ensure loan quality.
• Negotiate loan proposals and prepare/ write loan commitments for underwriter or loan committee approval.
• Serve as the primary contact for all financial services to Business Banking clients to ensure retention and growth.

Job description

The Business Banking team actively calls on businesses that typically have annual revenue between $1MM and $30MM. The team includes relationship managers, client managers officers, treasury management officers and others that provide a suite of products and services that serve companies of this size. The objective of the group is to earn the title of trusted advisor and help these companies grow and prosper in our community.

As the Sr. Business Banking Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for increasing the Bank’s profitability by cultivating new commercial relationships and the expansion/retention of existing relationships. In this role you must utilize your credit acumen and be knowledgeable in non-credit products such as Deposit products, treasury management, virtual card, trust, etc. Successful candidates for this role will be resilient, agile, accountable, and driven.

How you’ll spend your time:

• You will utilize your networking abilities in the community by participating in community and professional activities in order to enhance UMB’s image and brand to build new business.
• You will utilize your credit skills to qualify companies eligible for loan business while managing the overall credit quality of assigned portfolio to ensure the loan quality.
• You will utilize your negotiation skills to negotiate loan proposals, analyze & evaluate credit requests & write loan commitments, for presentation to underwriter or loan committee for loan approval.
• Utilizing your communications skills, you will serve as the primary contact for all financial services to individual Business Banking clients with the bank to ensure retention of business.

Compensation Range: $98,208 - $144,705 The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s good faith and reasonable estimate based on its budget and what it expects to be the starting pay for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
