JOB DESCRIPTION

The incumbent is an empowered team member and leader, knowledgeable in the business, who deploys best practices to facilitate the elicitation, analysis, organization and management of business requirements, working with members of assigned Claritev business units. The incumbent must ensure that the project team develops solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimizes requirement defects up front; and establishes and maintains agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for project deliverables that are complex and not always clearly defined.

Job Summary

The incumbent applies critical thinking, business and systems analysis, data-driven insights, and emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI) to understand business problems, structure business knowledge, identify gaps and opportunities, and enable effective delivery decisions and measurable business outcomes.

Job Roles And Responsibilities

• Actively solicit, analyze and negotiate customer requirements to identify underlying business problems, desired outcomes, business rules, dependencies, assumptions and gaps; ensure that the project team develops solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimize requirement defects up front; and establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for project deliverables.
• Create and maintain requirements and business knowledge artifacts appropriate to the work, including but not limited to Value Streams, Capability Maturity Matrices, Business Rules, Process Diagrams, User Stories, requirements using Gherkin Scenarios, Traceability Matrices, Business Requirements Documents, and Functional Specifications. Select the appropriate level and form of documentation based on the needs of the work. Effectively and responsibly utilize AI to accelerate analysis and artifact creation while validating outputs for accuracy, completeness and business intent.
• Apply critical thinking and structured analysis to ambiguous or complex business problems; challenge assumptions, identify gaps and inconsistencies, evaluate alternatives, and facilitate decisions before solutions are committed.
• Use available data, metrics and other evidence to understand business problems, establish baselines, evaluate opportunities, support recommendations, and help define and measure expected business value and outcomes.
• Manage multiple priorities, customer expectations and relationships with all stakeholders. Manage relationships with customers, project managers, and any/all levels of management.
• Meet and work with project business sponsors, software end-users, applications development staff, and others as necessary to perform assignments. Conduct meetings with business stakeholders to actively solicit, analyze and negotiate customer requirements. Obtain appropriate agreement and approval on business requirements.
• Solicit input from developers and other technical staff to understand delivery considerations and level of effort and from the business community to define scope, value and priorities.
• Assist with project and delivery planning, including methods, processes, tasks, sequencing and dependencies.
• Collaborate continuously with Product, Architecture, UX, Development, Testing and other delivery partners throughout discovery, design, development, testing and implementation to ensure shared understanding of business intent and expected outcomes.
• Coordinate changes to requirements and related business knowledge that occur during delivery and maintain appropriate documentation and traceability.
• Support customers in training efforts for end users and staff members.
• Mentor junior staff members.
• Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
• Demonstrate commitment to the Company's core values.
• Demonstrate effective and responsible usage of Artificial Intelligence in accordance with company policies.

Job Scope

Incumbent works under minimal direction and uses independent judgment to identify issues, trends, problems and opportunities; recommend action plans; and evaluate results on work that may not be clearly defined and is large in scope. Work is varied and complex, requiring the individual to use a broad range of knowledge gained through extensive experience. The position works with internal and external sources to complete objectives, using business outcomes, available evidence, and the needs of external and internal customers when making decisions and taking action.

REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, And Training)

• Minimum Bachelor's degree, or 5 years of related experience. Graduate degree a plus.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Business Analyst.
• Experience with BDD and the usage of Gherkin Scenarios for requirements definition.
• Experience working with UX Design teams.
• Experience documenting API requirements (request/response) as well as data mapping and transformation efforts.
• International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)/Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) preferred.
• Required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable.
• Knowledge of Healthcare industry and understanding of major workflows associated with healthcare claim processing.
• Knowledge of a broad range of project and delivery methodologies and best practices for requirements definition and management including Waterfall, Iterative, Agile (Scrum and Kanban), and Scaled Agile (SAFe).
• Expert-level business analysis and systems analysis skills.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical decomposition, problem-solving and facilitation skills, including demonstrated ability to work effectively with incomplete or ambiguous information.
• Strong data literacy, including the ability to interpret business and operational metrics, use data to investigate problems and opportunities, and help define measurable business outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and translate complex business needs into clear business outcomes, rules, workflows and delivery requirements.
• Ability to lead, develop, mentor and coach team members.
• Ability to effectively and responsibly use Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies to support research, analysis, requirements discovery, documentation and quality improvement, including critically evaluating and validating AI-generated outputs.
• Ability to facilitate teams and client relationships to satisfy needs and identify improvements.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with all levels of management.
• Ability to demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service and follow through.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $100-110k. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
