Job summary

Storm4 is seeking a Cell Design & Development Engineer to lead the design and development of commercial battery cells from concept through scale-up, collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain and product teams to deliver high-performance cells at scale.

This role requires deep expertise in battery cell design, large-format formats, Li-Metal experience, and the ability to balance performance, cost, and manufacturability while guiding scale-up efforts for aerospace and defense

Qualifications

• 10+ years of battery cell design and development experience.
• Experience with large-format cells (6Ah+, ideally 20Ah+ pouch cells).
• Li-Metal experience preferred; Silicon or Silicon/Graphite also considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of commercial battery cells from concept through scale-up.
• Collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, supply chain and product teams to deliver high-performance cells at scale.
• Balance performance, cost and manufacturability throughout development and scale-up.

The Role

We're looking for a Cell Design & Development Engineer to lead the design and development of commercial battery cells from concept through scale-up. You'll work at the intersection of R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams to deliver high-performance cells at scale.

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years of battery cell design & development experience
• Experience with large-format cells (6Ah+, ideally 20Ah+ pouch cells)
• Li-Metal experience preferred; Silicon or Silicon/Graphite also considered
• Strong understanding of cell manufacturing processes and scale-up
• Exposure to High-Nickel NCM cathode chemistries
• Ability to balance performance, cost, and manufacturability trade-offs
