Role Summary

Our Palo Alto team is looking for a highly motivated Software Tools Engineer to develop scripts and tools that will support the development and validation of Rivian's Autonomy and ADAS features. This role will work closely with the Autonomy team and will be responsible for enabling the system validation engineers with the tooling, pipelines, and automation necessary to acquire, ingest, process, and analyze data from the vehicle for ADAS/Autonomy features and systems. The successful candidate will be highly organized, learn quickly, exhibit a can-do attitude and have a passion for leading technical projects and solving engineering problems using engineering principles, data analytics, computer programming, and hands-on testing.

Responsibilities

1. Develop, integrate and maintain software scripts, tooling and pipelines for data acquisition, processing, and analysis.
2. Develop robust and scalable solutions to ingest, store, and process vehicle and simulated data.
3. Collaborate with engineering teams to define KPIs, success criteria and dashboards to analyze datasets, track issues and extract meaningful insights related to feature performance.
4. Develop and maintain in-vehicle data acquisition software and hardware, perform root cause analysis, and facilitate testing and validation activities through automation.
5. Proactively identify and fill gaps as needed.

Qualifications

1. 2+ years of experience in developing software using Python (including object-oriented programming).
2. Practical knowledge of the fundamental concepts of software testing and test processes, including familiarity with time-series analysis.
3. Basic knowledge of data engineering fundamentals and cloud-based services.
4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and troubleshooting skills.
5. Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
6. B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical field.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $146,900.00 - $183,600.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
