Advantage Technical in Westminster, MD is seeking a hands-on Senior Industrial Automation & Process Engineer to lead automation initiatives across manufacturing operations. You will design, implement, and optimize robotic systems, PLC controls, and automation equipment to convert manual processes into efficient workflows.

Leading a team of Process Engineers and Setup Technicians, you will manage projects from concept to implementation, collaborating with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 8+ years in industrial automation.
• Hands-on hardware and software in robotics, PLCs, and sensors.
• Experience leading engineers and technicians.
• Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing automation projects and process engineering initiatives.
• Design, implement, and optimize automation systems and robotic applications.
• Manage projects from concept through implementation including schedules and budgets.
• Mentor process engineers and setup technicians.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Industrial Automation & Process Engineer to lead manufacturing automation, process engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will drive operational efficiency by converting manual processes into automated solutions, optimizing manufacturing workflows, and implementing advanced robotics, PLCs, and automated equipment.

Lead and develop a team of Process Engineers and Setup Technicians.

Design, implement, and optimize industrial automation systems, robotic applications, and automated equipment.

Identify opportunities to automate manual manufacturing processes and improve operational efficiency.

Provide hands-on technical expertise in PLC programming, robotics integration, sensors, actuators, and industrial controls.

Oversee the design and fabrication of custom tooling, fixtures, jigs, and automated workstations.

Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation, including schedules, budgets, and performance objectives.

Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D teams to support new product introductions and process improvements.

Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvements in quality, safety, efficiency, and cost.

Ensure proper equipment documentation, process standardization, and technician training.

Support the integration of equipment and automation technologies developed by other company locations.
