Gantri is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead our automation initiatives, focusing on integrating and optimizing our manufacturing processes for a high mix operation. This role is essential for advancing our capabilities through expert tool path programming for robotic operations across various applications. You'll work closely with our team to ensure our automation strategies support our commitment to efficiency, quality, and environmental responsibility.

Tool Path Programming:
  • Expertly craft and optimize tool paths for robotic operations across our diverse product range using offline programming tools.
  • Ensure tool paths maximize efficiency, quality, and minimize waste, tailored to the unique characteristics of each part.
Automation Design & Implementation:
  • Design, develop, and integrate automated systems, including robotics, PLCs, SCADA, and vision systems for a variety of manufacturing tasks.
  • Collaborate with external integrators to customize automation solutions to fit Gantri’s unique processes.
Programming and Optimization:
  • Program and fine-tune robotic operations for precision in handling diverse production requirements.
  • Continuously refine automation programming to adapt to the specific needs of each part.
System Maintenance & Enhancement:
  • Establish and manage maintenance protocols for all automated systems.
  • Use data insights to enhance robot programming and tool path efficiency.
Project Facilitation:
  • Lead and coordinate automation projects, particularly those centered around tool path creation.
Innovation and Research:
  • Explore cutting-edge tool path generation technologies, including AI and scanning techniques.
  • Innovate automation strategies to accommodate the complexity of part variability.
  • Conveyor systems, part sorting and binning, parts inspection, dimensional and light transmission uniformity testing.
  • Automated product assembly and tool holder design for automation.
  • Evaluate and incorporate sustainable automation practices to reduce environmental impact while improving efficiency.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure all tool path programming and automation processes meet safety compliance standards, with familiarity in:
  • ISO 10218: Robots and robotic devices - Safety requirements for industrial robots
  • ANSI/RIA R15.06: Industrial Robots and Robot Systems - Safety Requirements
  • NFPA 79: Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery
  • ISO 13849: Safety of machinery - Safety-related parts of control systems
  • OSHA Regulations related to machinery and automation safety
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to mitigate hazards associated with robotic operations and automation.
Mentorship and Training:
  • Mentor and train team members on advanced tool path programming and automation techniques.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to integrate part-specific requirements into automation.
  • Effectively communicate project progress and technical solutions to stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Advanced proficiency in offline programming tools for robotic tool path generation.
  • Deep understanding of robotics programming languages for precise path planning.
  • Experience with control systems, PLCs, and SCADA system integration.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, particularly in optimizing for part variability.
  • Project management leadership for diverse automation projects.
  • Strong communication skills for effective team collaboration.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Robotics Engineering, or related field. A Master’s degree is highly valued.
