Job summary

FedEx Corporation seeks an experienced in-house attorney to provide legal counsel to the corporation and its subsidiaries across federal, state, local, and international laws. This hybrid role supports operations from multiple offices, including Plano, TX, Memphis, TN, Irvine, CA, and Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate will hold a Juris Doctorate, be admitted to the bar, and have at least six years of practice with strong research, writing, and negotiation skills, enabling informed settlement

• Superior academic record and ability to assess settlement vs litigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to the corporation and subsidiaries; ensure compliance with federal, state, local and international laws.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare written analyses.
• Negotiate settlements and manage litigation strategy as appropriate.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify and mitigate risks.

Job description

To provide legal counsel and advice to the corporation and its subsidiaries to ensure their effective operation in accordance with federal, state, local and/or international laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate Degree from an A.B.A accredited law school and admission to the bar. At least six (6) years of experience and demonstrated competence as a practicing attorney in relevant area of law. Superior academic record. Ability to determine appropriateness of settlement or litigation. Excellent research and writing skills. Strong negotiation, human relations and communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference in Memphis | Employment Litigation law particularly Title VII; employment litigation experience; investigations experience, leave and accommodation law; strong written and verbal communication skills; project management experience; strong judgment and decision‑making; attention to detail; collaboration and teamwork; Microsoft Office proficinecy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) | Law Firm employment litigation experience

This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN (preferred), PGH, PA, Plano, TX, Irvine, CA, or DC and candidates must live within 50-mile radius. Employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week.
