The Opportunity:
The Recycle Sales Fiber Coordinator is responsible for managing the movement of recyclable materials generated through the converting production process to internal Smurfit Westrock mills and external customers. This role is focused on high volume transactions via trucks, rail and export. This position serves as the first point of contact for suppliers and customers to satisfy their needs and expectations in a manner that builds strong business rapport and customer trust and confidence and liaisons between the sales team, suppliers, customers, logistics and accounting, providing overall customer service and support to all capabilities.
Core Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
- Execute supplier and customer orders, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and shipment concerns.
- Manage weekly commodity allocations and coordinate logistics to maintain optimal mill inventories and on-time deliveries.
- Adjust schedules proactively in response to market fluctuations and supply chain constraints.
- Address quality and safety exceptions with urgency to minimize cost and service disruption.
- Maintain accurate account profiles, including contact details, scheduling requirements, and commodity data.
- Achieve weekly performance metrics to ensure operational consistency and accountability.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Suppliers, Customers, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain service excellence.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with assigned accounts, ensuring data integrity and timely updates in master systems.
- Support onboarding of new accounts by coordinating with Sales and Master Data teams for system setup and allocation integration.
- Collaborate with Finance teams to resolve payment and invoice discrepancies promptly.
- Partner across departments and locations to resolve disputes and maintain operational harmony.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance industry knowledge and technical proficiency.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Entry-level; prior recycling experience not required.
Education:
- Required: High School diploma
- Preferred: BA/BS or equivalent experience in high-volume customer service or account management
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong typing and data entry skills
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
- Strategic Communication: Engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, from peers to senior leadership, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Detail Orientation: Maintain accuracy in scheduling and documentation under dynamic conditions.
