Position Summary

The Senior Analyst of Assortment Analytics will support the Manager of Category Management to develop and execute analytical concepts in our assortment planning/category management landscape. This individual will lead processes and analytics that will influence merchandise strategies, product selection, and improve our organizational processes using space-aware data to make assortment decisions. This role resides within the Merchandise Operations business team and will collaborate with various cross-functional areas such as Merchandising, Marketing, Inventory, and Planning. The Senior Analytics Analyst will work closely with Merchants to optimize strategies, refine data outputs, and translate data into visual presentations. The individual must understand and adhere to category timelines and processes.

Core Job Responsibilities

1. Support and collaborate with Merchandising teams to build and execute assortment strategies and track category assortments.
2. Evaluate and recommend efficiencies and effectiveness of strategies and timelines.
3. Work with Space, Floor, MPI, etc., to support assortment implementation and optimization.
4. Provide assortment and space optimization insights using sales, inventory, and space data.
5. Lead projects to improve productivity within the category.
6. Support initiatives that enhance data integration to influence assortment decisions, blending art and science of merchandising.
7. Communicate complex ideas clearly to all organizational levels.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Create compelling PowerPoint presentations with key data insights and visuals.
2. Assist Store Planning Management in gaining cooperation across departments and leadership.
3. Present insights to Merchandising teams and leadership.
4. Automate data analysis processes using PowerBI, Dax Studio, and Excel.
5. Train in space and floor planning software to improve analytical processes.
6. Coordinate with Systems, IT, and BI teams to optimize data and technology use.

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS or equivalent qualification.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in merchandising, planning, or data analysis.
• Proficiency in retail performance metrics.
• Strong business acumen with technical skills to interpret data and optimize assortments.
• Critical thinking skills for strategic problem-solving.
• Decision-making capabilities and effective communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Self-motivated, curious, and proactive in seeking understanding.
• Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
• Experience leading teams.
• Knowledge of Blue Yonder Category Management Suite is a plus.
