Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Stennis Space Center, MS seeks a Sr. Associate, Test Engineer to support safe rocket engine testing and RS-25 assembly under experienced teams.

You will perform leak checks, maintain test documents, and collaborate with Quality, Engineering and Safety to meet program targets; a DOD Secret clearance may be required. The role requires strong communication, teamwork and a mindset for continuous improvement in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years related experience, or equivalent with 6+ years experience.
• Experience in testing environments and rocket-related testing is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and collaboration ability.

• Supports the assembly, test, and verification of rocket engine components.
• Conducts leak checks, inspections, and other engine related tasks.
• Creates and maintains check sheets for work performed by technicians.
• Works with Quality, Engineering, and Safety organizations to achieve common goals.
• Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
• Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
• Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects.

Job Description:

Responsible for safe and effective rocket engine test and assembly of the RS-25 engine. This position works in concert with related disciplines, contractors, and customers to ensure the successful testing of L3Harris products.

Essential Functions:

• Supports the assembly, test, and verification of rocket engine components.
• Conducts leak checks, inspections, and other engine related tasks.
• Creates and maintains check sheets for work performed by technicians.
• Works with Quality, Engineering, and Safety organizations to achieve common goals.
• Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
• Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
• Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects.
• Works under general supervision.
• Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
