Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Associate, Material Management at our Plano, TX facility to oversee end‑to‑end material planning, ensuring on‑time availability of raw materials and finished goods for contracts and non‑contract material.

You will support the Production Planning & Control master schedule and work closely with procurement to plan, order, receive, store and issue materials to meet the master schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2+ years related experience; or 6+ years if no degree.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0–2 years related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review the MRP system daily and run standard reports to support planning activities.
  • Maintain planning parameters in the MRP system to ensure data accuracy.
  • Process demand signals and purchase requisitions to support timely order fulfillment.
  • Assist with material planning activities using existing methods to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor material delays or changes and notify managers of potential impacts on schedules.
  • Expedite materials and assemblies as directed by senior planners.
  • Identify potential shortages and report findings for corrective action.
  • Update supply orders and planning data in the system as schedules change.
  • Support site metrics by completing daily planning tasks accurately and on time.
  • Participate in meetings to provide updates on planning tasks.

Job Description:

The Senior Associate of Material Management is responsible for managing and optimizing the end-to-end material planning process to ensure the on-time availability of raw materials and finished goods for all contract and non- contract material at a group of sites. The Senior Associate supports the Production Planning & Control site master production schedule through efficient utilization of the MRP system, including implementation of planning strategies and effective purchasing requisition management. This role will work closely with the Procurement organization to ensure material is proactively planned, ordered, received, stored, and issued to the manufacturing line to support the manufacturing need date, master schedule attainment, and customer on‑time delivery. The Senior Associate supports maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.

Essential Functions:
  • Review the MRP system daily for assigned actions and run standard reports to support planning activities; identify basic discrepancies and elevate issues as needed.
  • Maintain established planning parameters in the MRP system by entering updates provided by senior planners or management to help ensure data accuracy.
  • Process demand signals and purchase requisitions by following defined procedures to support timely order fulfillment across assigned projects.
  • Support the execution of material planning activities by applying existing planning methods and guidelines to help meet production requirements.
  • Monitor material exceptions such as delays or changes and notify the Materials Management Manager or senior planners when issues may impact the production schedule or contract dates.
  • Assist with expediting materials, parts, and assemblies between departments according to project schedules and direction from senior team members.
  • Identify potential material shortages through system review and report findings to appropriate personnel; assist with corrective actions as directed.
  • Update supply orders and planning data in the system based on schedule changes or instructions from senior planners; maintain accurate planning and inventory control information for assigned parts.
  • Support the site’s key operational and Supply Chain metrics by completing daily planning tasks accurately and on time.
  • Provide suggestions for improving work processes and support continuous improvement efforts within Materials Management.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with internal teams to provide updates on assigned planning tasks.
  • Ability to obtain a US LEVEL security clearance.
  • Ability to travel, amount to be determined by operational need.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Knowledge of Bill of Material in a straight‑line or indented structure. Familiarization with control of GFM (Government Furnished Materials) is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data‑driven decisions. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other statistical software.
  • Familiarity with Cincom Control and Agile is a plus.
