L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Canoga Park, CA is seeking a Sr. Associate, Manufacturing Quality Engineer to provide program Quality Engineering support across the lifecycle, from design through production and supplier support.

You will drive Six Sigma and Lean improvements, manage corrective and preventive actions, interpret drawings and requirements, and participate in MRB to ensure first-pass quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of related quality experience.
• Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0–2 years of related quality experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of related quality experience.
• Valid driver’s license for company business use.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer requirements flow-down and hardware meets specifications.

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Associate, Quality Engineer to join our team in Canoga Park, CA. This individual will provide program Quality Engineering support for assigned contracted programs spanning the lifecycle of the program including design, development, production, test and supplier support.

Essential Functions:

• Utilizes engineering background and expertise to ensure customer requirement flow-down and hardware is compliant to specifications. Handles and communicates deviations/non-conformances at different levels within the organization and at customer level as applicable. Prepares comprehensive analyses, procedures, reports and presentations for both internal and external customers.
• Actively participates in improvement teams to reduce risk through the application of six sigma tools. Applies zero defects quality principles, concepts and methods, including Lean Manufacturing to continuously improve processes, reduce cost and ensure the quality of our products and services.
• Drives corrective and preventative action activity both in-house and at the Supplier, and provides corrective action board support to manage timely and effective problem closure and recurrence control.
• Interprets engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer's requirements. Participates in design reviews to identify and correct inspectability and producibility issues and opportunities early in the product life cycle. Provides a clear and concise flow down of product definition and Quality requirements to Suppliers.
• Actively participates in the Material Review Board, including segregation and control of nonconforming hardware to preclude inadvertent processing, disposition nonconforming hardware, preparing for and conducting board meetings, and implementing disposition decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related quality experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0-2 years of prior related quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related quality experience.
• Valid driver’s license; employees who drive on company business to carry out job-related duties must possess a valid driver’s license for the class of vehicle driven and meet automobile insurability requirements of the company.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Advanced degree in a related field
• CQE and/or CSSBB
• APQP and or Zero Defect Planning Experience
• MDA experience
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to a variety of situations.
• Must consistently meet commitments.
