Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Sr Associate IS Engineer in Thousand Oaks to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve automation solutions leveraging ETL and data tooling. You will partner with platform leads to deliver automation projects with quality and on schedule.

You will transform process requirements into software, collaborate with IS and business partners to enhance workflows, and ensure reliable, scalable services while adhering to agile practices. Telecommuting options may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with ETL technologies and data pipeline development.
• Scripting languages including SQL, Python, and R.
• Experience with data warehousing, BI, and cloud storage technologies including Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Tableau, Power BI and AWS S3.
• Work within Agile methodologies or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments.
• Software development best practices, including reusable code design and creation of technical documentation.
• Microsoft Excel, including use of Macros, Pivot Tables, and V-Lookups; and
• Experience with visualization and analytics tools including Tableau.

• Adopt agile methods to align with Scaled Agile framework.
• Be curious and explore innovative ways to do business better and more cost effectively.
• Support the Global Anaplan Platform Owner by collaborating with global business and IS partners to manage Anaplan Datahub requests; may telecommute.

Sr Associate IS Engineer

Duties

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve automation solution
• Partner with platform lead and automation engineers to develop automation projects and ensure quality and timely delivery of projects
• Contribute towards efforts to design, build, and develop rapid Proof-of-Concept (POC) automated solutions and services. Quickly and iteratively prove or disprove the concepts being considered
• Work with process subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand key process requirements and transform them into software solutions
• Collaborate with IS and Business partners to understand how software engineering and automation can improve workflow and productivity
• Review functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements
• Provide technical write-ups and drawings to promote the proposed solutions
• Collaborate with the other engineering team members to ensure all services are reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated into existing platforms
• Adhere to standard methodologies for testing and designing reusable code
• Adopt agile ways of working practices to align with Scaled Agile framework

Job type: Full Time position. The annual salary range for this position in the U.S. is $136,386.00 per year. Also, this position offers stock, retirement, medical, life and disability insurance and eligibility for an annual bonus or for sales roles, other incentive compensation. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
