About this role

We have a Technical Writer position open in our Indianapolis office. If you have a passion for writing and working across functional groups, this is a great opportunity for you. As a Technical Writer you will create and revise technical documents such as Installation Instructions, Service Manuals, Product Data Sheets and Price Pages. You will communicate with various other teams to ensure that the information contained within each document is accurate.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and maintain technical documents
• Maintain web-based document library to ensure that all documents are consistent and up to date
• Meet with engineers, and project managers to learn about specific products
• Research to fully understand products and product lines.
• Plans writing processes and communicates regularly with document approvers to meet project goals and deadlines
• Creates or works with engineering to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.
• Gathers to improve technical documents.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates solid understanding of literature development and processes
• Passion for servicing customers. Ability to listen to customer needs and quickly act to solve their problems, go above and beyond to exceed their expectations.
• Proven ability to execute with speed and exhibit a bias for action mindset.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate's degree
• 3 + years of technical writing experience
• 1+ year experience using Microsoft Office tools, PowerPoint and SharePoint
• 1+ year of experience using Adobe FrameMaker with the understanding of conditioning as well as Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of residential HVAC applications and market dynamics preferred
• Demonstrated experience in technical drawing
• Excellent communication skills
